Personality:

First off, Fi appears cold and logical. Nearly everything said and done by her involves her predicting percentages and determining probability and this is because she’s an artificially created life form, left by Hylia to act as the spirit of the Goddess/Master Sword and to guide her Chosen Hero. That’s her sole purpose and to that effect, it was never necessary for her to behave or act as anything but, unlike Ghirahim. While it never seems that Fi expresses or feels emotion, that fact that she is a weapons spirit, like Ghirahim, indicates that it is possible, if not probable.

Towards the end of her journey with Link, she expressed that she had come to cherish moments of their adventure together and that his friendship was the thing she cherished most of all. In fact, she expresses that she feels happiness and is surprisingly calm for someone who was about to enter an eternal slumber within the sword. Although she never could completely comprehend the human spirit, she did come to appreciate the new feelings, however few they were, she had felt during their journey.

It also seems as though she is capable of enjoying things, such as singing or dancing due to the fact that she starts dancing every time a message from the Goddess is awakened in her memory. Our sword spirit is also naturally graceful, moving similarly to that of a figure skater with a type of restrained grace in usually when relating those same messages from the goddess or when Link is playing a new song. Fi also sings each time Link discovers a new song, despite the fact that all she would be needed for is conducting him.

She knows her purpose and it’s possible she regrets that it’s all she exists for as she empathizes with robots and other artificially created beings. After the fight against LD-002S Scervo on the ship, Fi comments: “I can’t help but admire the tenacity it had displayed in staying alive and functional all these years.” which shows that she does feel at least something towards her fellow artificial life forms.

Aside from that, Fi seems completely aloof, or perhaps oblivious, towards Scrappers feelings towards her. Being oblivious is not completely out of the question as it is common in humans for a person not to notice anothers affection towards them, and often have to be told. Sadly, no one ever told Fi.

Her loyalty knows no bounds, despite the fact that she was created to assist Link. She is constantly assisting him in every possible way and always lets him know if his health is low or if his Wii remote batteries are dying so he doesn’t end up dying before killing Demise and saving Zelda. Even during those times, Fi is calm and collected, never resorting to hysterics or raising her voice. This could indicate her confidence in him, in a way, or she’d be ordering him to down a potion and restore his hearts.

Abilities:

Magic: Fi demonstrates several times in Skyward Sword that she is capable of different feats of magic. The most notable time is when she summons a stone tablet to guide Link down to the Surface for the first time. Other times are when she appears and disappears into the Goddess/Master Sword. Fi also infiltrated Link's dreams and can often scan enemies to inform Link of their abilities and weaknesses. Much of this is chalked up to technology (see Robots) however Fi is obviously a much more supernatural being.

Flight: Fi never walks, not once have her feet touched the ground. She's touched the surface of water as she danced in each temple but not once has she walked. She's even flown around rooms during the events of the game.

Dousing: Getting a sense of a person or their aura, Fi is able to add a dousing ability to the Goddess/Master Sword. This allows the user of the sword to track down anyone with that particular aura or anyone similar. It's not flawless however as, the Zelda dousing ability ended up leading Link to the Kikwi.

Telepathy: Telepathy can account for the intrusion Fi made into Link's dreams early in the game. It can also help her when scanning Link's health so she knows his condition at all times. Otherwise, this ability is typically used to summon the robot, Scrapper, from Skyloft to carry things back to the sky. Sensibly, this ability would work with anyone if she willed it.

Tranformation: When not part of the Goddess/Master Sword, she can transform into it, similarly to Ghirahim changing into the "Dark Master Sword" that Demise wields. (And since there are already two Master Swords present, I don't think this should be a problem.)

Teleporting: This is a lesser extent of most of her abilities. In the beginning of Skyward Sword, Fi appears to Link and guides him to the Statue of the Goddess. Each time he draws close, Fi would vanish and reappear several feet away.

Human form: This is more speculation than anything. As Ghirahim is capable of taking on a more human form, and is the spirit of a weapon just the same as Fi, it's only logical to assume that she has a humanized form as well. However, due to her mission, it's never necessary for her to take on any other form than her basic one.

Arms: No, this isn't an ability but I'm counting it as one because Fi does have arms! And apparently wears fancy gold bracelets.
